Rome, ItalY - Berlin and Frankfurt, Germany - Paris, France

November was a busy month of travel, with three different countries in three weeks.  Rome and Paris I had been to before and they were were quick long weekend trips.  Germany was a week long trip.  Berlin has always been of particular interest to me, partly because I'm mostly of German heritage and partly because almost everyone I know that has been to Berlin or lives there loves it.  I have to say, it is a very nice city and very convenient and livable, a much slower pace that London, that's for sure.

Rome, Italy

Dates:  November 4 - 6

Annie, my friend that I say with in London, and I went on a short weekend Roman holiday to meet up with our friends Micky and Saida on their honeymoon.  I had been to Rome before on an excursion as part of a Mediterranean cruise about 10 years ago, but this was the first time I really got to explore for more than a few hours.  Rome is a very easy city to get around and most of the ancient ruins and stuff that most tourists take in are all fairly close to each other.

Berlin and Frankfurt, Germany

Dates:  November 8 - 16

Went to Berlin for a few days to check out the city and visit friends and then went to Frankfurt for my former company's NowForum.  I've been trying to do things like the NowForums to keep my brain active and keep up to date on the industry while I'm taking time off work.

Paris, France

Dates:  November 17 - 20

If you've read the "About TT" page, you know that Paris was the very first trip abroad that I made which was back in 1997.  I made my first return to Paris last year for Christmas 2016 and then another trip to Paris this November.  Once again, my travel companion was my friend Annie.  We took an early morning Eurostar from London and arrived in Paris around 11AM.  Our hotel was a very funky older building, but the location was spectacular, being right across the street from Notre Dame.
